Julie Wright, LMT, CPP owner and director of Soma Massage & Wellness has been practicing massage since 2003. Julie specializes in therapeutic and nurturing massage, stress reduction, grief recovery, healing and balancing work drawing upon her education through the Polarity Realization and SpaTech Institute, continuing education classes and personal experience. Each session is designed to create a relaxing experience and relieve accumulated stress which can sometimes manifest in the body as pain or discomfort.
Before opening Soma, Julie worked for a chiropractic office where she deepened her practice in and understanding of therapeutic massage and worked closely with their patients to provide relief from muscular dysfunction. For many years, she was an outdoor educator for the Outward Bound School in Maine and Maryland where she led multi-day sailing and professional development courses with youth and adults. During this time, she was also an educator for The Outdoor Leadership Program through the University of Southern Maine. Before moving into the healing arts, Julie was a Program Manager for The Youth Resiliency Project a branch of the Peoples Regional Opportunity Program, where she developed activities and programs for youth and families and managed staff and interns.
Julie brings a passion for working with people and building community as well as a belief in the healing possibilities of our body and mind to her work at Soma.
