Herbal Medicine

Cultures have passed the wisdom of herbs on from generation to generation. Each culture used the herbs common to their environment while applying their own cultural background. Herbalism is viewed and accepted throughout ancient and contemporary writings, as humanity’s safest form of medicine. The key is the proper administration of herbs from a trained clinical herbalist. A trained clinical herbalist has become familiar with herbs and, most importantly, their proper administration. Their in depth studies have included hundreds of herbs and many proven formulations, their indications and contraindications, chemical constituents, energies, and common uses.

Though there are many uses of herbs related to a given culture, the three most familiar schools of herbalism today are Western, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Ayurvedic. Herbalism embraces the intuitive aspects of practice from these schools. At Soma, we offer professional Herbal Therapeutic Care and Consultations using knowledge from Western, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Ayurvedic perspectives. Our goal is to meet the client’s needs through individual care for individual needs with a trained staff of herbalists.

We embrace the holistic care of the modern medical community. The nutritional information, formulations, supplements, and consultations from our staff are in no way intended as a substitute for medical care or treatment. Please do not attempt self-treatment of a medical problem without consulting your physician and/or qualified healthcare provider.
